SheetConsole Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 22, 2026

SheetConsole is a Chrome extension made by Wheaton Web Development. It adds a panel that floats over Google Sheets, so you can enter, find and edit rows more easily. This policy explains what SheetConsole does with your information. In short: it works only between your browser and Google, and it collects nothing.

What SheetConsole accesses

When you first use SheetConsole, Google asks you to allow it to see and edit your Google Sheets spreadsheets. SheetConsole uses this permission only to do what you ask of it in the panel: to read the tab you have open (its headers, its rows, and how its cells are set up) and to write the rows you enter, edit or insert. It does this through Google's own Sheets service, directly from your browser.

What SheetConsole stores

SheetConsole remembers a few settings for each tab you use it on: which row holds your headers, which columns you chose, where your list last ended, and the panel's size and position. These are kept in your own Chrome profile (and, if you're signed in to Chrome, synced to your other computers by Chrome). The contents of your spreadsheets are never stored anywhere by SheetConsole.

What SheetConsole does not do

SheetConsole has no server of its own: your data never passes through any computer other than yours and Google's, and every exchange with Google is over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. It does not collect, sell, rent or share any information about you or your spreadsheets. It contains no advertising, tracking or analytics. SheetConsole's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Removing access

You can withdraw SheetConsole's permission at any time in your Google Account, under Security → Your connections to third-party apps & services. Removing the extension from Chrome removes the settings it stored.
